Memory Lane (5th anniversary edition)

Released in May 2020, Alluthus' album Memory Lane was STiBaRC Records' first full-length project. The album, consisting of ten tracks based on short writings, was recorded at home via GarageBand during the global pandemic. Now, five years later, the album will be reissued to commemorate the label's fifth anniversary. The reissue features eighteen total tracks—ten original tracks, four deluxe edition tracks, and four additional bonus tracks—all remastered for enhanced audio clarity.

A Message from the Artist

Happy fifth anniversary to STiBaRC Records! My first album also turned five this year. Looking back on Memory Lane, I feel a mix of embarrassment but also pride for attempting something new. The track titles for this album were inspired by the short stories and poems I wrote during my senior year of high school, which were overly dark and cringey. With minimal knowledge of music production, I made the entire album on GarageBand—a combination of pre-made loops and some original flair. Like many 17-year-olds, I had unrealistic expectations for this project. At the time, I thought that a basic indie instrumental album would be the next big thing. Critical opinions led me to overlook the positive I received, something I realized much later down the road. Looking back five years later, I view Memory Lane more positively than I did initially. To me, this album was my most creative compared to subsequent releases. While it may not be as entirely original in terms of its sound packs and loops, it holds unique value for me as an effort to explore completely new territory. Being extra as usual with this ‘special webpage’, if you have read this far, thank you and I hope you enjoy these reworked tracks.
